Proposal
§ Genre – The genre of this film is a thriller as the key narrative uses tension, suspense and excitement.
§ Narrative – The genre of the film is thriller as it uses many different things which get the audience on the edge of their seats in hope of what may happened throughout the film. The main protagonist of the film is a man in his mid thirties, who never seems to be named but at the start of the film is portrayed as a kind, friendly neighbour. To the audience he is just a normal man as his house and lifestyle seems normal. But as time goes by, we start to begin to see a different side of the man. His moods change and he becomes angry, and then a small child becomes the main focus, recording the moves on the young defenceless child, planning it as the days go by, a serious yet sly kidnapping takes place as he is taken to a secret place where no one knows, more dark and mysterious. The parents of the child set out and search for him calling the police; however they have no leads on who may have taken him or where he may be.
§ Target Audience – The target audience is mainly aimed at teenagers. The target audience is aimed at this particular group as many teenagers like that excitement and thrill that comes from a film, keeping them on their toes and continue to guess what will happen. Also being old enough to go in to see that film seems to be a privilege. Teenagers seem to set out to watch films which will scare them and give them that feeling of tension where they are on the edge of their seats. It is educating them the dangers of the outside world.
